Driving.
Windows down, hair blowing in the wind
Hands tightly grip the wheel
Country music blasts out the speakers
The little pickup races down the highway into the unknown.
A small town disappears in the rearview mirror
And she savors her escape.
Escaping her problems
Her fears,
Her responsibilities.
Running never felt so damn good.

  1. It reminds me of the bean trees, a lot. I like it, it really puts me in that car seat, and that's something that makes it worth reading again. And it kind of feels rebel like :P.

  4. I agree with dilpreet, this reminds me of the bean trees. I also really like the rebellious feeling, I haven't really felt like that since summer.
